Remembering Simon Faga: A Tribute to a Cherished Friend Today, I take a moment to reflect on the life of Simon Faga, an extraordinary individual who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. Although it's been a few years since his passing in 2021, the memories of our time together remain vivid and cherished. I still recall the early morning walks we shared, strolling towards Richway in Abuja, discussing life, and exploring the city's beauty. Simon's warmth and kindness made him a joy to be around, and his connection to influential figures like HRH Lamido Sanusi Lamido was a testament to his character. I fondly remember the various places we visited together, and the occasions when the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, would invite him to share his insights and expertise. But what I treasure most are the personal moments we shared. I remember how he would call me "Ade" with a longer tone, a term that has become a fond memory. I recall the time he called me from the hospital, his voice weak but still full of warmth, asking me he wanted to eat Amala and Ewedu. I drove him there shortly before his passing, a moment that I will always cherish. Simon's wisdom and guidance were highly valued, and his presence was always a source of comfort and support. My heart goes out to his family, especially during the difficult time when his wife passed away just months before him. May they find solace in the knowledge that Simon's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. As I pay this tribute, I celebrate Simon's life, his friendship, and the impact he had on me and many others. May his soul continue to rest in peace, and may his memory remain a blessing to us all.
